Mango Smoothie

Mangoes need no introduction. It is known as King of all fruits. So many recipes can be made from mangoes, whether it is raw or sweet. So I thought of making some mango smoothie, after all, its time for mangos again for this year. Living out of India, I always crave for Indian mangoes. According to me, Indian mangoes are the best in the world. There are more than 25 varieties of mangoes grown in Indian. But the most famous and expensive of all is Alphanso Mangoes. It is only grown in Maharashtra region in Ratnagiri, Raigad and Konkan belt, in India. These mangoes are so sweet and juicy that they are exported worldwide.

Indian mangoes are not available throughout the year but here local mangoes are available throughout the year. And mango purée is also available at your local grocery store. So this recipe can be made throughout the year whenever you want to make but tastes best during summers.

There are many versions of this, but I am sharing my version of this recipe. In this, I have used Alphonso mango puree, in that I have added sweetened condensed milk and to give little tanginess I have used little mango juice in it. To end with I will top with some almonds juliennes and canned cherries.

So here is the recipe:-

Preparation Time:- 5 minutes  Cooking Time:- 10 minutes  Total Time:- 15 minutes

Number Of Servings:- 1 -2 persons
Measurements:-
1 cup = 250 ml
1 tablespoon = 15 ml
1 teaspoon = 5ml
½ teaspoon = 2.5 ml

Ingredients:-
1) Whole Milk:- 1 cup (Chilled)
2) Sweetened Condensed Milk:- 1 Tablespoon
3) Mango Puree:- ½ cup
4) Mango Juice:- 2 tablespoon
5) Ice cubes:- 3 - 4
6) Yellow Food color:- 1 - 2 drops (optional, gel food color)
7) Almond Juliennes:- 1 teaspoon (for garnishing)
8) Canned, deseeded and diced Cherries:- 1 teaspoon

Method:-
1. Take a blending jar, add milk, mango puree, and condensed milk to it.

2. And add ice cubes, mango juice and yellow food color to the blending jar. (Yellow food color is totally optional. I have used, as it gives the bright yellow color to the smoothie. If you want you can avoid it.

3. Close the cover of the blending jar and blend it till everything is blended well and ice cubes are crushed.

4. Take out in a serving glass. And garnish it with some almond juliennes and cherries from the top.

Your cold and refreshing mango smoothie is ready to be served.

Note:-
* If you want to make it little healthy more healthy, you can add some soaked chia seeds from the top along with almonds and cherries. ( Take 1 teaspoon of chia seeds and soak it in ½ cup of water for 10 -15 minutes. Take chia seeds out from the water and add directly to your serving glass.)

* If you want you can use skimmed milk instead of whole milk. And if you want to make it lactose-free, you can easily replace milk with coconut milk or almond milk, and condensed milk honey or sugar.

*If you don't have mango puree you can use 1 large mango. Dice the mango and add to the blender with the milk and other ingredients.

Serving Tip:- You can serve this for breakfast or as an evening snacks.
